The key lead featured in the music video is 18 year old Muhammad Daniel Bin Abdullah, who has intellectual disability, and who received the SAWL Scholarship of $2,000 in 2019. Daniel studies at MINDS Lee Kong Chian Gardens School and stays with his siblings and parents in a two-room flat.

Starring in the music video are singer and co-producer Ms Rani Singam, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Indranee Rajah, who is also Patron of the Fund, Mr Gregory Vijayendran S.C, (Law Society's President), Mr Philip Jeyaratnam S.C, more than 20 SAWL members and three previous recipients of the Fund.

Dentons Rodyk is the presenting sponsor of this fund-raising project, which hopes to raise $250,000 through online donations. This will be matched dollar-by-dollar by the Bicentennial Community Fund for funds collected before 31 Dec 2020.

About the Charity

The SAWL Scholarship Fund was set up in 1987 to further the educational needs of needy students with physical disabilities who have displayed scholastic aptitude. In 2019, the Fund expanded its reach to include students with special needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder and intellectual disability.

The Fund disbursed about $107,900 in 2019 to about 64 students. Since the inception of the Fund, more than 900 students have benefited from over $900,000 of scholarships disbursed to Secondary Schools, Institute of Technical Education, Junior Colleges and Tertiary institutions.

The Fund continues to be well received by the community as there are almost no other scholarships available for these students which, unlike bursaries, also celebrates their academic achievements.

The Fund is a registered Charity in Singapore and has an Institution of Public Character status (IPC).
