About Campaign

Other than vet fees, one of SOSD's largest expense is on dog food. In our shelter at Sungei Tengah, we have an average of 80 dogs at any one time, and that uses up approximately 3 large bags of food PER DAY!

However, these are not the only dogs that we feed.

Together with Noah's Ark Cares, SOSD runs a Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage programme on Jurong Island (JI). With 200 dogs in our JI shelter, and another 150 strays that we feed, feeding the dogs on JI is quite a feat. Just for JI alone, SOSD needs to fork out an average of $4500 each month, even after huge discounts from suppliers.

Due to strict regulations on the island, members of the public are not allowed to feed the stray dogs. Thus, it falls back fully on our staff to go around the island to feed them on a daily basis, rain or shine.

We need your help to continue feeding these dogs, and to continue caring for all the dogs under SOSD's care.

From now till 31 March 2020, all your donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar through the $200M Bicentennial Community Fund (BCF), up to a cap of $400,000. So do make your donations soon to maximize your contribution! We hope to raise $15000, to cover the food cost incurred from January to March. Please donate if you can, and help us share the message with your friends and family. Thank you!

About the Charity

SOSD is a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to the welfare of Singapore's many street dogs.

Our mission is to eliminate cruelty to and abandonment of animals, enhancing their welfare, and improving the lives of animals and humans, through rescue, education and advocacy.

SOSD relies on the generosity of the public to support its shelters at Sungei Tengah and Jurong Island. Our expenses have gone up drastically with the increase in rental, hire of staff to run both shelters and implementation of the Trap-Neuter-Release- Management ("TNRM") programme.

You can make a difference. Your kind donation will help in providing shelter, food, medicine, veterinary care and love to the rescued dogs.

Your donation is eligible for 250% tax rebate. Kindly provide your name as per NRIC and your tax reference (NRIC/FIN).

Donations received in GivingSG will be pooled with other donations and be used to provide food, medicine, veterinary care and support for the dogs under SOSD's care. Donations may also be used to pay for other operational costs of SOSD's shelters, such as utilities, water, rental and transport costs and costs and expenses of its TNRM programme. This is inclusive of donations raised in all of SOSD's campaigns.
