About Campaign

Why? ... is the question most commonly asked. Sometimes, it becomes the only question that is asked.

"Why didn't he tell me..?"

"Why did he choose to go..?"

Yet the answers to these questions are elusive. More than just having experienced a loss, suicide survivors are very much at a loss themselves.

They experience denial, anger, regret, shame, guilt, intense emotional pain; sometimes all at once.

And that's only the start of what is sometimes a life-long journey of learning to cope with a bereavement that is complex, drastic, and above all, life-changing.

SOS Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) programme is the only local outreach programme providing emotional support to people affected by the suicide death of someone close.

We don't try to come up with answers; instead, we are there for these bereaved loved ones on their journey in finding hope and healing.

Your generous donations will enable us to continue providing relevant services to more vulnerable individuals in Singapore who are facing a crisis.

About the Charity

On average in Singapore, 407 lives were lost to suicide annually from 2013 to 2017: that's about 1-2 suicides every day. For every suicide death, 10-15 others would have attempted it. Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) is the only suicide prevention centre in Singapore. We are a secular non-profit organisation which provides 24-hour confidential emotional support to people thinking about suicide, affected by suicide, or who have difficulty coping during a crisis. We take a holistic approach to suicide work with an emphasis on suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. We set out to be an Available Lifeline to Anyone in Crisis as we aim to be the Premiere Organisation in Suicide Prevention in Singapore. To find out more, visit www.sos.org.sg.
