About Us
Ronald McDonald House Charities Singapore was founded in 1989, and belongs to a global network of over 260 chapters in 62 countries. We are an independently administered charity with a simple mission - to directly improve the health and well-being of children in Singapore.
We believe that a "home" is more than four walls and a roof over your head. That is why every Ronald McDonald House is a safe haven that provides all the comforts of home, plus the compassion and hospitality of staff, volunteers, and other families - all just steps away from the hospital.
Our home is filled with more than help; it is filled with hope. We believe that when families are together, they cope better. That is because we believe that no family should have to deal with their child's medical crisis alone.
Seriously ill or injured children often need to spend weeks or months in a hospital for the necessary treatment. It is not only an incredibly long time to be away from home but also for a family to be divided - usually with the mother at the bedside of the sick child, leaving the father or relatives to take care of the siblings. Ronald McDonald House serves as a place of respite and also one for the families to gather, while being close to their warded child.

Our Programmes
Ronald McDonald House at NUH
As a "home-away-from-home", the 4-bedroom House allows families to stay and be close to their hospitalised child, all at no cost. Families are stronger when they are together, and their presence can help a sick child heal faster and cope better.
Ronald McDonald Family Room at NUH
The Family Room exclusively serves families whose children are receiving treatment in NUH Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency ward. The Family Room provides a cosy, home-like environment where families can take a break from the ward to grab a bite, take a shower or even catch a nap.
Ronald McDonald Family Room at IMH
Expanding further into another area of promoting positive mental health, we opened our second Ronald McDonald Family Room at the IMH. We are possibly the first country to set-up a family room in such an environment and it has been well received by both parents & patients of the IMH.
