Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.

I was a gas plant technician before my amputation and my duty was to ensure that the gas system runs smoothly without failures to our customers. As a quad amputee, I encountered difficulties initially when it came to selecting a sport of my liking. I am glad to have had the opportunity to try out swimming, rock climbing, table-tennis, scuba-diving, sitting volleyball, wheelchair-fencing and wheelchair rugby. It was wheelchair rugby that called out to me and that sport keeps me moving forward. I count myself blessed to be able to live each day, do volunteering and give back to the society. I am honoured to be part of Relay Majulah and look forward to meeting the runners who all came forward, for a good cause. I hope that by taking part in this relay, we can create awareness to the public to forge a more caring and inclusive society.

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
