About Campaign

This year, the People's Association (PA) will be pledging $250,000 to the President's Challenge 2021. In support of President's Challenge 2021 and in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Community Sports Clubs (CSCs), PA is organising a virtual sports event to encourage everyone to keep active while making a direct donation through Giving.SG. Through this sports event, PA hopes to raise an additional $50,000 for the beneficiaries of President's Challenge 2021, bringing the total amount to $300,000.

PA has been a steadfast supporter of the President's Challenge since its inception in 2001. Over the years, PA has helped to raise almost $6 million dollars to help President's Challenge beneficiaries.

About the Charity

The President's Challenge started in 2000 and represents a coming together of people from all walks of life, under the President's patronage, to help those who are less fortunate. It is the President's call to all Singaporeans to do their part to build a more caring and cohesive society.

While fundraising continues to be at the heart of President's Challenge, the campaign has gone beyond the giving of money to the giving of time, skills and talent for the less fortunate. President now seeks to play a bigger role in nurturing stronger communities by expanding support for programmes beyond the social service sector and to encourage the young and elderly population to be involved in community work.

Under the leadership of President Halimah Yacob, President's Challenge is looking into more customised and upstream support to help the most vulnerable change their circumstances through skills upgrading, capacity building and empowerment.
