Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.
Back in 2005, I weighed 82kg and had a BMI of 26. My ex- boss challenged me to run a marathon. That started my journey towards leading an active, and healthy lifestyle. With thrice weekly runs of 10km and longer on weekends, my BMI went into the healthy range after a year. Having benefited from this, a group of friends decided that we should encourage others to follow in our lifestyle. That was where Gei Gei Running Club was born and I was given the honorary title of club president. Our aim was simple. To encourage people of all shapes, sizes and speed to lead an active lifestyle.
I am thrilled to participate in Relay Majulah to commemorate Singapore's Bicentennial and to raise funds for the 67 charities under President's Challenge. I am also looking forward to meeting likeminded fellow participants who are coming together for a good cause.

In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social
In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
