Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.

I started running in 2006, at a point of my life when I needed structure and discipline as I was facing weight gain and needed to keep fit. As I ran, I became healthier, and not just that. I started to dream. The impossible dream that I would one day qualify for the Boston Marathon. The oldest Marathon in the world and the mecca of all marathoners. Where there is stringent cut off times to run in order to qualify. 12 years on in 2018 at the age of 50, I finally qualified. And in 2019, I completed the 6 world marathon majors. The journey and the parallels it had with life inspired my personal life as well as others around me. That we can all dream. Anything is possible with belief. I am an ordinary man and it is an honor to be part of Relay Majulah. To do good through sports. I hope to infect my friends and loved ones with the belief that we can all achieve and my story is a testament of that.

In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
