About Campaign

ends 31 Dec 2019, 11:59 PM
Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.

I am a civil servant and one of the happiest moments in my life would be standing on stage to collect my local 3rd prize for Standard Chartered Marathon 2018.

I am excited to participate in Relay Majulah to raise funds for the community. Such running events inspire me. I wish for more such events to happen to garner interest and participation for more runners to play their part for the community in need. I hope that with every step that I make, it would create a better tomorrow for those in need of help.

About the Charity

The President's Challenge started in 2000 and represents a coming together of people from all walks of life, under the President's patronage, to help those who are less fortunate. It is the President's call to all Singaporeans to do their part to build a more caring and cohesive society.

While fundraising continues to be at the heart of President's Challenge, the campaign has gone beyond the giving of money to the giving of time, skills and talent for the less fortunate. President now seeks to play a bigger role in nurturing stronger communities by expanding support for programmes beyond the social service sector and to encourage the young and elderly population to be involved in community work.

Under the leadership of President Halimah Yacob, President's Challenge is looking into more customised and upstream support to help the most vulnerable change their circumstances through skills upgrading, capacity building and empowerment.
