About Relay Majulah
Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.

I am an SAF officer and the Chief of Staff - Air Staff in the Republic of Singapore Air Force. I was previously Commander Air Power Generation Command, in charge of the military airbases in Singapore. I was also Commander Air Surveillance and Control Group as well as Commanding Officer of 203 SQN in the RSAF. I joined the SAF 26 years ago as a young woman looking for adventure and a meaningful career and believe that women can contribute to national defence. I am inspired by the commitment shown by our NSmen, NSF and Regular force in the SAF to defend Singapore. I am proud to be an SAF officer, a mother of three daughters, and a volunteer with Girl Guides Singapore.

I am taking part in Relay Majulah to keep fit while contributing to a meaningful cause. I will do my best and train hard to complete 10km in less than an hour so as to raise funds to help people who are in need. I look forward to running with fellow Singaporeans and commemorate Singapore Bicentennial together. We will be running to keep Singapore strong. Majulah Singapore! - Gan Siow Huang

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
