A a very young age, Adli had a hard time living like a normal child. Having to fend for himself for survival, he picked up illicit habits and mixed with gang members to deal with the pressures of life. At age of 16, Adil was apprehended and after serving his probation, he was recommended to Trybe's Building Eco Systems (BES), a service that assess, train and matches youths to partnering companies for employment. Equipped with life skills and an alternate pathway for a better future, Adli is now being offered an opportunity to further his studies and a full-time contract with a company.

The Empowering for Life Fund (ELF) supports individuals like Adli, through skills upgrading, capability building and employment. The fund focus on supporting customised, dedicated services to the most vulnerable groups and facilitate their integration into society and handhold them on their journeys to improve their circumstances.

As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him how to fish and you feed him a lifetime." By nurturing every induvial to be empowered with the relevant skills set for the wok environment, elevates them a step nearer to their dream.

About the Charity

The President's Challenge is an annual community outreach and fundraising campaign for charities selected every year by the President's Office. It is a call to all Singaporeans in doing their part in building a more caring and inclusive society.

Initiated in 2000 by former President S R Nathan, the Challenge represents the coming together of people from all walks of life, to help the less fortunate. In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
