About Campaignends 31 Dec 2019, 11:59 PM
Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.
I am inspired by people who overcome adversity to achieve success. I am also inspired by sports people who are steadfast, determined and courageous in pursuing greatness in their sports. I am a proud Singaporean and it is amazing how our small nation has achieved so much, especially from such a humble beginning. I am grateful for what many of our pioneers have overcome and achieved.
Participating in Relay Majulah to run 10km in 1 hour will be a challenge. Although my job requires me to have a certain level of fitness, it is slightly different to the fitness required of a 10km run. In my SCDF journey, every incident that I was activated for has been challenging. I wouldn't have overcome these challenges by myself, without the professionalism and great teamwork of my colleagues. Likewise, through my participation in Relay Majulah, I hope our friends in need know that you never walk alone and that we are with you, for you. - Brandon Ong (Singapore Civil Defence Force, Senior Officer)

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
