About Campaignends 31 Dec 2019, 11:59 PM
Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.
After working for more than 30 yrs, my life had become jaded by work stress. This led to occasional flare-ups of eczema. At the age of 50, I overcame self-doubt and resolved to turn my unhealthy lifestyle around by exercising. Jogging was a logical choice for me because I can jog at my own time anywhere. It was not all smooth sailing. During a medical review some years back, prompted by a discovery of a heart murmur, the heart doctor cautioned me against serious running at my age. This did not put a stop to my running activity. For a few years I remain at the TOP of my age group in the Standard Chartered Marathon. Joining like-minded people in the SAFRA running group last year is another milestone in my life as it has opened up more running opportunities for me.
I am happy to be a part of Relay Majulah to contribute to society in a meaningful way and help someone live life to the full. Let's join hands and hearts to help those in need and build a nation that truly cares.
