Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit, who live life to the full and live life without limits.
Having been running for past 8 years, I have realized that my passion for running becomes stronger whenever I challenge myself to improve my speed or to beat my Personal Best Record. Nowadays, due to the hustle and bustle of life, it has increasingly been more challenging for individuals to ignite a stronger passion for running with the purpose of running for a good cause.
As a father of two, I need to set a good example for them on living healthily and that is where my son, Vernon Quek started to like running 3 years ago. My challenge now is to motivate and inspire my son, daughter and SAFRA Running Club Punggol Runners to keep running and achieve their desired timings.
For the past 4 years, I have been doing blood donation on my platelets on a monthly basis to do my part for the society in whichever way I can. I am honoured to be part of Relay Majulah, to raise funds for the less privileged and to give back to our society. I look forward to all of your support and donations.
