About Relay Majulah
Relay Majulah is a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2,000km over 200 hours (2-10 Nov 2019) to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 supported charities; and to commemorate Singapore's 200 years. It also aims to unite the community, for the community; and tell the inspiring stories of people with indomitable spirit and who live life without limits.

Starting with my joining The Boys' Brigade during Secondary School till this very day, I have been blessed with many "angels" who have made significant impact on my life. Putting my Christian faith into action, my first job was with The Boys' Brigade in Singapore; and for the past 25 over years, I have been working full time in the social service sector, in organisations like YMCA, National Council of Social Service and Singapore Cancer Society, serving the underprivileged and marginalised.

Many like me, greatly benefit from many helping hands and my involvement in this Relay, is about paying it forward. President's Challenge celebrates our common duty, and delight by looking outwards to help our "neighbours" at a time when the global trend is for nations to turn inwards. Relay Majulah, in support of the President's Challenge, strives to nurture this spirit of outward sacrificial giving, especially to those in our Singapore family who might be left behind in our pursuit of progress. - Albert Ching (CEO, Singapore Cancer Society and President, YMCA of Singapore)

In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
