About Campaign

I am challenging myself to run 10km under 1hr as part of Relay Majulah, a ground-up initiative to form a 200-runners team to conquer 2000km over 8 days - to raise funds for President's Challenge and its 67 charities. I have never been a competitive runner so doing this is a huge personal challenge for me. Yet, however big this challenge is to me, I know it is nothing compared to the challenges faced by many in our community who are less fortunate. So why this challenge? There are several reasons. "To Make A Positive Impact" has been my purpose statement since my twenties. I know by running, I'm able to fundraise for so many worthwhile causes. I can make a positive impact.

Over the years, I have supported several causes including education, social mobility, and economic empowerment. I'm glad many of the organisations I have supported will directly benefit from my efforts. Finally, I've been inspired by so many everyday heroes who overcame their own challenges. Even this idea of a relay to rally people together to commemorate Singapore's Bicentennial and to do good at the same time inspires me!

I hope by taking on this personal challenge, I hope to inspire others to take action to support a worthy cause, to uplift lives, and to make a positive impact. So please support by donating generously! Your pledges will spur me on as I train up to run in support of the President's Challenge! (CEO, Emergenetics APAC, and Founding Member, Project Happy Feet)

In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment.
