About Team Parkinson
Our first at a marathon event, Team Parkinson comprises 9 brave Parkinson Warriors, along with 4 caregivers, taking up the challenge of completing 5km within the official cut-off time of 1hour 15 minutes. It may seem a simple task for running enthusiasts, but potentially a feat for People with Parkinson (PwP)!

Parkinson Society Singapore is very proud and appreciative of the efforts our Warriors are putting in to inspire fellow PwP and everyone in general too, with your determination to stay positive and active!

A big THANK YOU to Mr BK Pang; Mr KH Tan; Mr TK Chua; Mr CK; Ms Doris; Ms Margaret Wan; Ms Pong; Ms Eling Teow; Ms Coco Kurata and your loved ones!

Pledge your support towards Team Parkinson today and help spread the word!

About I Run For Parkinson
I Run For Parkinson is a new initiative of Parkinson Society Singapore (PSS) calling for running enthusiasts to make their race in the upcoming Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2019 more meaningful by raising awareness and funds to support People with Parkinson. Making another meaningful first is the formation of Team Parkinson - a team of People with Parkinson and their caregivers participating in the 5km category!

100% of all funds raised will be donated to PSS to further its cause in supporting PwP through therapeutic programmes. We are grateful for the support from our corporate partner, Lundbeck Singapore, for your sponsorship towards Team Parkinson's participation & training!

About the Charity

Parkinson is the second most common neurodegenerative disease affecting 3 out of every 1,000 people aged 50 and above. Singapore's first community-based Parkinson Centre at Bishan provides people with Parkinson and their caregivers with the much needed support beyond those provided in hospitals.

Parkinson Society Singapore (PSS) was formed on 16 December 1996 by a group of doctors and caregivers to help people living with Parkinson. The society was registered as a charity on 28 January 2000 and is a member of National Council of Social Service (NCSS).

Since then, the Society has organized a number of programmes including therapeutic exercise programmes, social and recreational activities and annual public forums, aimed at improving the lives of People with Parkinson (PwP).

The Society also works closely with support groups in various hospitals and publishes newsletters and books to raise the awareness of Parkinson. In Singapore, there are more than 8,000 PwP and the number of PwP is expected to go up in our rapidly ageing population.
