About Campaign
ends 31 Aug 2022, 11:59 PMSingapore Specials have come a long way in the past two decades. Those acquainted with the local animal welfare scene would know that mixed breeds often get misjudged.
Yet, for those of us who interact with them daily, we know that Singapore Specials are as intelligent, loving and forgiving as any breed, and are more than deserving of a second chance at life and a forever home.
Whether they be strays that had to learn to shy away from crowds, or dogs that were abused, neglected or surrendered to our shelter, our mission has always been to be an oasis to all of our rescues.
This was how we came to be named Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter.
Our organisation now houses up to ninety dogs at our five units in Sungei Tengah at any given time, and tries to provide the best care to all residents while finding them loving homes. Keeping the shelter going, however, comes with taxing operational costs.
Overheads include rent, utilities, kennel staff salaries, transportation of dogs to clinics as well as purchase of food, supplements and cleaning supplies. Last year alone, our operating expenses came up to about $420k. For 2022, we are expecting this cost to rise to $500k.
Every donation received from this campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Tote Board and the Government under the Enhanced Fund-Raising Programme.
About the Charity
Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter Ltd (OSCAS) is an animal welfare charity registered in 2014 and devoted to caring for a hundred rescued strays in Singapore. All of the dogs in the shelter were rescued from the streets or from being culled. Currently, a hundred Singapore Specials call the shelter their home before their right families come along.
