About Campaignends 16 May 2017, 11:59 PM
Sadly, this is the truth in many of our neighbouring countries. Many nurses in countries such as Vietnam, China and India do not have knowledge of Basic Life Support or Patient Care.
This is why we train nurses and other health professionals in pre- and post-surgery care to ensure that patients get the full continuum of care.
And this is what makes Orbis different from others.
12 May is International Nurses' Day, a day where we celebrate the contributions of our noble nurse friends. But let's also take this day to raise awareness of the challenges they face in their course of work.
Give today to make training a reality for all nurses around the world. Donate today to make vision a reality for all. All funds donated will contribute to our sightsaving work around the world.
About the Charity
Every 5 seconds, someone in the world goes blind. 253 million people in the world are visually impaired. But did you know that 80% of these cases are needless? Many do not get the care they so desperately need: 90% of the world's visually impaired lives in developing countries. Lack of training and poor infrastructure is a growing problem. Orbis is an international non-profit organization and a pioneer in global eye health. We transform lives by preventing and treating avoidable blindness. We do this by building the capacities of our partners.
