Goat farming is common in mountainous Nepal, but the hard work of farmers may often translate to low success. This is due to lack of knowledge on commercial goat farming, livestock diseases and treatments, food and nutrients for goats, as well as breeding and sanitation.

A few years ago, Masali was unable to earn any income from farming a small piece of land which they owned. Masali heard about a goat farming training in her villager in 2017. She decided to attend the class and received 7 goats to start her goat farming business. With the goats breeding and multiplying, Masali have 17 goats now. 'Before the goat farming training programme, we could not even afford stationeries to our children. But we are earning well today and have become independent. Our lives have changed; we are very happy and grateful.' Masali said.

Beneficiaries of this programme are often from the lowest caste in Nepal. Even though Nepal has banned caste system-based discrimination, lower caste groups still face discrimination in rural communities.

With your support, we can give them an opportunity to turn their lives around.
