About Campaign

Living conditions in the remote villages of Cambodia are some of the worst in the world; unhealthy, unsafe and uncertain. Many of them are vulnerable to the harsh weather condition due to living in shacks and with roofs made of thatch due to the lack of financial provisions.

Pao and Thoeurn, the husband and wife in the picture used to live in a shack covered by plastic sheet and palm leaves with their 18-year-old daughter. Whenever it rains, they could only wrap themselves up in plastic sheets and had nowhere to run and take cover. With the husband earning only US$2-$2.50 per day and not being able to work when he was sick because of staying out in the rain, they were unable to save up to build a proper house. But thanks to a generous donor, they can move into a proper wooden house and have a shelter over their head.

SELECTION OF BENEFICIARIES
OHF begins by conducting detailed surveys to identify the poorest of the poor. We work with village and commune chiefs to verify their poverty. Photos of their current house and details of their income and assets are recorded. The OHF Cambodia Community Development team is on the ground to carry out building projects.

As of 2018, we have built 38 houses in Prey Veng Province located in Cambodia with sponsorships by compassionate donors.

For every $5,200 raised, you can help to build a safe and secure wooden house.

Donors will receive a softcopy photograph of the beneficiary with the house you contributed to.

About the Charity

Operation Hope Foundation is a Christian charity established in 2001 in Singapore. We focus on achieving high benefit-to-cost ratio for both our donors and beneficiaries. Hence, we have a very hands-on approach to projects which we own and run. Your donation will go toward supporting the operations of OHF. Please visit our website www.ohf.org.sg for details on OHF's projects, programmes and beneficiaries.
