About Campaign
ends 31 Mar 2022, 11:59 PMMental health has been an underlying issue that has been largely overlooked until the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Following the many changes to our lives due to COVID-19 restrictions, more in Singapore has been seeking help for mental health issues. Younger persons between 18 to 34 are identified as the most vulnerable group. 1 in 5 had experienced a mental disorder in their lifetime.
Our Beacon program provides subsidised counselling therapy for young to middle-aged persons with mental health issues since April 2020. Based on 203 clients seen in FY2020, almost half of our clients (45%) earn less than $2000 per month. Depression, anxiety, trauma, and stressor-related disorder (81%) are the most presented psychological issues, while family, interpersonal, and occupation issues (61%) are the most presented social issues.
Online donations before 31 March will be matched by Tote Board Enhanced Fundraising Program. Donations ($10 or more) are entitled to 250% tax exemption.
About the Charity
O'Joy Limited is a non-profit charity that provides psychosocial care to enhance the mental wellbeing of vulnerable seniors and adults.
Amidst the emerging trends of an ageing population in 2004, O'Joy opened its doors and started serving the psychosocial needs of our elderly population via counselling and social work.
in recent years, we noticed the increasing demands for mental health services for young to middle-aged adults. O'Joy acted to fill this gap by starting our BEACON program in 2020. BEACON provides counselling therapy to adults (18 to 49 years old), facing mental health challenges. This was especially timely during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
O'Joy means Oceans of Joy. We hope to bring joy and hope to those we serve through our programmes and services.
O'Joy Limited is a registered charity with IPC status. Your donations are entitled to 250% tax deduction.
