About Campaign

Social isolation is a sombre problem faced by the elderly in Singapore. There is an increasing number of elderly experiencing this problem.

Many of them find themselves in this situation after their spouse passed away. Some do not have children, or their children could not look after them. Often the problem made more complicated with mental health issues or estranged family dynamics.

Alone and waiting to die, they may coop themselves at home, separating themselves from the outside world. Their self-care began to deteriorate as they lose hope in life.

Some of them may wander aimlessly in the streets, looking for someone to talk to. Mostly they are shunned by their neighbours.

Social isolation will lead to other mental health issues such as depression, dementia or even elderly suicide.

O'Joy helps elderly who are facing social isolation, family abuse or neglect. We ensure that their basic needs are taken care of, provide counselling to improve their mental wellbeing, and ensure social interaction by providing companionship.

By supporting our services for the elderly, you can help bring joy to their remaining years, knowing that they have not been forgotten.

About the Charity

O'Joy Limited is a non-profit charity that provides psychosocial care to enhance the mental wellbeing of vulnerable seniors and adults.

Amidst the emerging trends of an ageing population in 2004, O'Joy opened its doors and started serving the psychosocial needs of our elderly population via counselling and social work.

in recent years, we noticed the increasing demands for mental health services for young to middle-aged adults. O'Joy acted to fill this gap by starting our BEACON program in 2020. BEACON provides counselling therapy to adults (20 to 49 years old), facing mental health challenges. This was especially timely during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

O'Joy means Oceans of Joy. We hope to bring joy and hope to those we serve through our programmes and services.

O'Joy Limited is a registered charity with IPC status. Your donations will be entitled to 250% tax deduction.
