"Before I became a youth hub member, my life was out of control. I didn't know how to handle my family problems. I even thought of ending my life. But as I keep on receiving encouragements and motivation from New Life staff, my perspective changed from being hopeless to realising my worth and purpose. I'm thankful that I can trust and open up to them. I've become a better person and learnt how to cope with my problems," Ann*, 13 y.o.

Youths are impressionable and mouldable. They sometimes get into trouble, misbehave, and make mistakes.Hence building their character is vital to prevent them from developing at-risk behaviour that may result in negative impact later in their lives. By mentoring them, we hope that they can become responsible and contributing adults.

Our 3 Youth Hubs in Bukit Panjang & Woodlands provide a safe community and positive environment for youths who come from all walks of life. Some are latchkey while some just need a listening ear and guidance.

Through play-based and skills-based programmes, our mentors develop a trusting relationship with the youths and journey with them in their struggles and challenges in life.

Our youth hubs are now open 2x weekly where we conduct small group mentoring activities w/ limited number of youths. Online engagement is still ongoing.

While most recent causes are Covid-19 related, let's also not forget our youths. Our future is at stake.

Every youth needs a mentor!

About the Charity

New Life Community Services is a social service agency committed to serve children, youth and senior citizens in the community regardless of race and religion. We are an IPC and a member of the National Council of Social Services.

We operate three childcare centres, three student care centres and two youth hubs with an emphasis on imparting life skills and character values to the next generation. We conduct literacy and character mentoring programmes for disadvantaged children, as well as after-school engagement programmes for youths. We also run active ageing programmes to support the needs of the elderly, an often isolated and marginalised group in society.

We also believe in improving the situations of marginalised families with schooling children so that the latter will be adequately supported as they grow up. To that end, we provide families with financial assistance, casework management and counselling to address financial and social issues.

In 2022, we nurtured 923 children, mentored 325 youths, enabled 185 seniors, and financially assisted 408 individuals and families, thanks to the generous support of donors, sponsors and fundraisers like yourselves.
