About Campaignends 30 Jun 2021, 11:59 PM
Project Love, New Life's financial assistance programme provided Mdm Norain's twin girls with spectacles, a necessary expense that she could not otherwise afford. Her children, as beneficiaries of our Steady Readers literacy programme gained critical literacy skills that form the foundation for higher education.
Kai Wei, through the efforts of New Life's Casework & Counselling team, also received the practical and moral support he needed to overcome his difficulties and fulfill his potential. Our Casework & Counselling department works with at-risk youth and youth offenders to break patterns of harmful behaviour and help them set constructive goals.
As hands and feet of New Life Community Services we are running in the RunAsOne SG event as one united staff team (but separately while adhering to safe management measures) in solidarity to raise funds for the children, youths and families under our care.
Your donation brings hope and tangible help to disadvantaged families.
Mentoring for life transformation is a long and often challenging process, which requires investing in people as much as in programmes.
Thank you for blessing the community with us, as we continue to grow and meet the multifaceted needs of our beneficiaries.
About the Charity
New Life Community Services is a social service agency committed to serve children, youth and senior citizens in the community regardless of race and religion. We are an IPC and a member of National Council of Social Services.
We operate three childcare centres, three student care centres and two youth hubs with an emphasis on imparting life skills and character values to the next generation. We conduct literacy and character mentoring programmes for disadvantaged children, as well as after-school engagement programmes for youths.
We also believe in improving the situations of marginalised families with schooling children so that the latter will be adequately supported as they grow up. To that end, we provide families with financial assistance, casework management and counselling to address financial and social issues.
In 2020, we mentored 735 children across our childcare, student care and children programmes services. We made a difference in the lives of 311 youths, including at-risk youths and young offenders. We also disbursed $100,825 to 88 families and individuals affected by COVID-19.
We are currently pioneering active ageing programmes to support the needs of the elderly, an often isolated and marginalised group in society.
