About Campaign

ends 14 Oct 2016, 11:59 PM
Character Adventure Climb aims to help at risk children from Kids Champ Club who come from low socio-economic households get acquainted with their strengths and weaknesses through rock climbing. The climb will encourage the kids to concentrate and focus on their learning abilities at the same time build their sensory and fine motor skills of endurance, flexibility and coordination; promoting good self-esteem and ability to overcome difficulties.

Character Adventure Climb is a physically and emotionally challenging activity for most children that promotes resilience and is a fun way of getting kids to keep trying without much pressure but with fun. With safety design, even slips and mistakes can be a valuable and fun learning experience. With different routes to reach the top of the rock wall, the children get to nurture their problem solving and decision making skills, and learn how to negotiate the smoothest route to success. Practising their power to choose is great practice for facing challenges on the path of life.

Character Adventure Climb will be held on 15 October 2016, Sat from 1.00pm - 5.00pm at (Venue: Dependent on how much we raise!).

About the Charity

New Life Community Services is a social service agency committed to serve children, youth and senior citizens in the community regardless of race and religion. We are an IPC and a member of the National Council of Social Services.

We operate three childcare centres, three student care centres and two youth hubs with an emphasis on imparting life skills and character values to the next generation. We conduct literacy and character mentoring programmes for disadvantaged children, as well as after-school engagement programmes for youths. We also run active ageing programmes to support the needs of the elderly, an often isolated and marginalised group in society.

We also believe in improving the situations of marginalised families with schooling children so that the latter will be adequately supported as they grow up. To that end, we provide families with financial assistance, casework management and counselling to address financial and social issues.

In 2022, we nurtured 923 children, mentored 325 youths, enabled 185 seniors, and financially assisted 408 individuals and families, thanks to the generous support of donors, sponsors and fundraisers like yourselves.
