About Campaign
ends 14 Mar 2019, 11:59 PMThe Boat Race is a set of annual rowing races between the Oxford University Boat Club and the Cambridge University Boat Club, rowed on the River Thames in London, England. Following this long-held tradition, the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Singapore held its third boat race at the Marina Bay in March last year (the first was held in 1997). This year, they have chosen to partner with NCCS once again as a show of their support for the fight against cancer.
Cancer is still the No. 1 killer in Singapore, accounting for 30% of all deaths in 2014. This is 5 times more than deaths caused by accidents, violence and poisoning put together. Last year, NCCS attended to more than 135,000 patient-visits and treated close to 70% of cancer cases in the public sector. The cost of cancer treatment has also increased significantly.
We are raising funds through this event in aid of patient care programmes to improve the quality of life of cancer patients in hope that less will suffer from this terrible disease. From this event, we hope to raise $80,000. Join us in supporting this meaningful cause!
About the Charity
Someone in Singapore is diagnosed with cancer every hour. For many, a cancer diagnosis is an emotional and difficult time. The NCCS Cancer Fund helps support cancer patients in need.
NCCS helps over 26,000 cancer patients each year.
From the moment they are diagnosed and throughout their treatment we are with them, providing the very best care, by the best people, in the best place.
Donate today and help us give hope to people with cancer.
