About Campaign

Cancer can strike anyone, anytime without a warning.

Years ago, my dad was diagnosed with a stage 4 lung cancer when 2 small lumps were discovered on his left chest through X-ray.

It was a shocking news for my family, as my dad was a non smoker with no pre-existing illnesses.

Sadly, I started doing a lot of research on Google to understand about lung cancer. It appeared that my dad did not have a lot of symptoms like coughing which is typical of lung cancer. Also, stress could be a contributing factor. So perhaps he was too affected with the many challenges while managing our family business.

As the tumours had spread to both lungs, doctors suggested chemotherapy instead of surgery. My dad went through 2 cycles of chemotherapy treatment and some said it was a miracle that he survived for another 8 years.

We counted ourselves lucky that he could be with us for much longer. But at the same time, our family was financially strained after he left us. When a primary breadwinner in the household is down with cancer, a caregiver in the family may find it equally challenging, if not more.

I hope to honour my dad by choosing NCCS Cancer Fund.

There are many cancer patients that need your help to tide through this challenging period. Some of them could not qualify for normal government support scheme and need more time to go back to employment. With your contributions, they may have a peace of mind while fighting cancer.
