Kidney We Care: Let's Revolutionise! (KWCLR) is back! Happening from 28 February to 13 March 2022, KWCLR is a hybrid charity event helmed by volunteers and partners to urge the nation not to sugar coat the silent killer, kidney disease.

The event aims to continue to heighten community awareness about kidney disease and to bring forth a new wave of kidney health advocates. There will be virtual activities comprising a plethora of engaging workshops, insightful webinars and electrifying performances initiated by our volunteers and partners as well as outreach & fundraising booths to encourage members of the public to contribute and participate for a good cause. Through this event, we hope to raise $50,000 to provide subsidised treatment and holistic care for our patients.

The Covid-19 situation has brought about unprecedented challenges for both NKF and our patients. The disease has placed our patients at higher risk due to their weaker immune systems. Just as worrying, about 5.5 individuals are diagnosed with kidney failure every day and the number of new cases has increased by about 60% over the past 10 years. With NKF serving over 5,000 of them, the financial burden on NKF is a heavy one, as it costs over $25,000 a year to treat and care for a kidney patient. However, with you and the community's generous support, we are able to keep treatment affordable and available to all who need it.

About the Charity

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is currently supporting more than 5,300 kidney failure patients, about two-thirds of the national kidney failure patient population. Our patients are of the lower income group. Treating a patient costs over $2,000 a month, however, the treatment our patients receive is highly subsidised, with 76% paying $50 or less a month out-of-pocket.

NKF remains committed to journeying with our patients every step of the way in their treatment and rehabilitative care, advocating kidney health to prevent kidney failure and making a difference in the renal landscape to benefit the community.

Partner us in giving Life & Hope to our patients now!

All donations received through Giving.sg will be channelled to NKF General Fund, which will be used to provide subsidised dialysis treatment and holistic care for our patients.
