About Us

The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts is a not-for-profit organisation with an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status. Founded in 1938, it has contributed to the development of the arts and creative industries for over 80 years. The academy has nurtured numerous distinguished artists, musicians and creatives who have helped to advance the local arts scene and raise the profile of Singapore overseas.

The academy offers full-time diploma and degree programmes across three schools: the School of Art & Design comprising Fine Art, 3D Design, Design & Media and Fashion Studies Programmes, the School of Music and the School of Arts Management, Dance & Theatre.

NAFA relies on donors and benefactors to allow us to continue our mission to inspire learning and growth through the arts for the next generation.

Our Programmes

Scholarships, Merit Awards and Bursaries

A significant number of NAFA students are from lower-income families and encounter difficulties in meeting the costs of an arts education. Many of them work part-time to supplement their education costs and family finances, often at the expense of their classes. Each year, about 150 awards are given out.

Student Relief Fund

The NAFA Student Relief Fund aims to help full-time NAFA students whose families are in sudden financial crisis. The financial assistance scheme will help these students to pay part of their course fees, subsidise study-related expenses and cover their subsistence cost, e.g. food and transport.

Student Achievement Awards

Every year, our graduating cohort impresses us with their grit, determination and creativity. Graduates who have shown exceptional attributes in areas of talent, character and commitment are commended through our Best Graduate Awards, Dean's List, Best Studentship, Chairman Award and President Award. These awards are acknowledgement of their progress and achievements during their art education journey.

Talent Development Programme

The programme aims to identify talented students and groom them in their related fields by providing customised programmes and opportunities that encourage them to take creative risks. Students undergo a one-on-one mentorship programme and are provided with funding to attend workshops, masterclasses or develop projects to nurture their professional development
