These are things we do easily in our everyday lives however they are not relatable to persons stricken with Muscular Dystrophy(MD).

MD is a chronic condition which causes the gradual weakening of the muscles. Persons diagnosed with MD face difficulties doing simple tasks such as raising their hands. The condition will eventually affect the functions of major organs like the heart and lungs. These individuals will eventually have to rely on life-giving equipment (e.g. breathing machine).

Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore), MDAS, provides care and support for persons with muscular dystrophy and their families. MDAS strongly believes in the abilities of our beneficiaries and see potential in them. Our programmes and services aim to uplift the lives of our beneficiaries. With support and encouragement, one can look beyond their condition to lead purposeful lives no different from others.

MDAS is a self-help organisation which relies greatly on donations to keep our programmes and services going. Funds raise through this Flag Day will go directly into covering the operating cost of our essential programmes and services.

Your support will give hope and encouragement to persons battling with this life-threatening condition to strive on.

Together we can fight muscular dystrophy!
