About Campaign

Despite offering free caregiving support to parents on shift work, overtime or night course, there are still dozens of children who are unable to get to our centre because they are too young to take public transportation.

The parents of these children are unable to send their children to the programme due to work commitments. We aim to close this gap by providing transport so that the parents do not worry about the safety of their children.

While at our centres, the children will also be trained to take public buses safely so that they can independently make their way to our centres and back home.

About the Charity

Morning Star Community Services is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character which aims to enrich and strengthen family relationships in Singapore. By empowering individuals and families, we strive to build vibrant communities that can make a difference to society.

In a world where challenges to harmonious family relationships are increasing in intensity, Morning Star Community Services also provides upstream, preventive and early intervention programmes, counselling services, and family life education workshops which are conducted regularly for the benefit of parents and their children.

We have two initiatives that serve the underprivileged and disadvantaged children - NOVA and CareNights.

NOVA is school-based (our centres are located in the schools) and reaches out to children who are not doing well in school. They tend to come from low-income and multi-stressed families.

CareNights is a free night care programme for children of families in need. The children come to our centres from 6pm to 10pm on weeknights because their parents are unable to look after them at night for various reasons. We provide dinner and structured activities to enhance the children's learning of skills and values.
