About Campaign

Children enrolled in the NOVA Learning Intervention Programme exhibit weak foundation skills and often struggle with social-emotional regulation. This affects their ability to learn and meet the requirements of school. The daily programme helps them to develop confidence and strengthen their competencies in each of the four domains, namely, social, emotional, behavioural and academic.

The NOVA Learning Intervention Programme is free for these children from low-income, multi-stressed families, as such every dollar donated is very much appreciated.

About the Charity

Morning Star Community Services is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character which aims to enrich and strengthen family relationships in Singapore. By empowering individuals and families, we strive to build vibrant communities that can make a difference to society.

In a world where challenges to harmonious family relationships are increasing in intensity, Morning Star Community Services also provides upstream, preventive and early intervention programmes, counselling services, and family life education workshops which are conducted regularly for the benefit of parents and their children.

We have two initiatives that serve the underprivileged and disadvantaged children - NOVA and CareNights.

NOVA is school-based (our centres are located in the schools) and reaches out to children who are not doing well in school. They tend to come from low-income and multi-stressed families.

CareNights is a free night care programme for children of families in need. The children come to our centres from 6pm to 10pm on weeknights because their parents are unable to look after them at night for various reasons. We provide dinner and structured activities to enhance the children's learning of skills and values.
