Temasek Foundation Cares - [email protected] Star Programme was launched on 25 November 2016 to help parents from low-income families get respite from caregiving at night.

[email protected] Star operates from 6 pm to 10 pm every weeknight. Children aged 7 to 14 are engaged in structured activities to support their learning of values and skills, such as Art for Therapy and performing arts.

The programme is free for parents for up to 6 months and expected to benefit 540 children and their families.

About the Charity

Morning Star Community Services is a registered charity and Institution of Public Character which aims to enrich and strengthen family relationships in Singapore. By empowering individuals and families, we strive to build vibrant communities that can make a difference to society.

In a world where challenges to harmonious family relationships are increasing in intensity, Morning Star Community Services also provides upstream, preventive and early intervention programmes, counselling services, and family life education workshops which are conducted regularly for the benefit of parents and their children.

We have two initiatives that serve the underprivileged and disadvantaged children - NOVA and CareNights.

NOVA is school-based (our centres are located in the schools) and reaches out to children who are not doing well in school. They tend to come from low-income and multi-stressed families.

CareNights is a free night care programme for children of families in need. The children come to our centres from 6pm to 10pm on weeknights because their parents are unable to look after them at night for various reasons. We provide dinner and structured activities to enhance the children's learning of skills and values.
