About Us

Since Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) was founded in May 1962, MINDS has grown to become one of the oldest and largest non-governmental organisations catering to the needs of persons with intellectual disability (PWIDs) in Singapore.

We run 4 Special Education Schools; 3 Employment Development Centres (EDCs); 8 Training and Development Centres (TDCs); 2 Homes (one for adults, one for children); 1 Hostel (for adults), and a Caregivers Support Centre and home-based care services to cater to the educational, vocational, social and welfare needs of people with intellectual disability. To ensure employment opportunities for our clients, we have our own Allied Health Professionals and Social Enterprise Department.

MINDS aims to provide a seamless range of quality services that meet the current and future needs of persons with intellectual disability, and their caregivers.

Our Programmes

At MINDS, we aim to provide a comprehensive range of services that best cater to the educational, social, vocational and psychological needs for both the children and the adults with intellectual disability.

Our Wish List

Clothing & Shoes

MINDS has four thrift shops around the island whereby we sell donations in kinds to our walk-in customers. We trained our trainees with intellectual disability to handle the job of sorting and tagging the sale items. These trainees also tend to the customers during the operational hours. This is one of our social enterprise initiatives created to raise funds through sale of donated items as well as provide vocational training to our trainees.

While our trainees and volunteers help to operate this shop, we need your support to bring in your unwanted or used clothes and items. Take a chance to recycle your used items which are in good working conditions as well. Please refer to our website for more information on how you can contribute!
