About Campaignends 31 Jul 2020, 11:59 PM
During this unprecedented time, the C.A.R.E. initiative aims to meet the different needs of about 2000 identified persons with disabilities requiring enhanced support, in partnership with SG Enable's social service agency partners.
1. Cooked meals - to persons with physical disabilities or those with visual impairment living alone, or frail persons with disabilities/elderly caregivers
2. Assistance funds - a one-time cash relief for families with multiple persons with disabilities as they experience both financial hardship and caregiving stress. This helps defray some costs for daily expenses (e.g. medical expenses, consumables, etc)
3. Respite care - to low-income elderly caregivers caring for persons with disabilities to minimise risks of burn-out and/or injuries from 24/7 caregiving
4. Essentials distribution - fortnightly distribution of essentials and dry food rations to persons with physical disabilities or those with visual impairment living alone
About the Charity
The Mediacorp Enable Fund (MEF) is a charity fund that aims to help build a society where persons with disabilities are recognised for their abilities and lead full, socially integrated lives. Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong is the Patron of the fund.
SG Enable supports the fund's administrative functions. Mediacorp, as the official media partner, is committed to using its capabilities and resources to change mindsets and advocate for a caring and inclusive society.
