ends 05 Sep 2022, 11:59 PMThe Singapore Prison Service (SPS), a uniformed organisation institutionalised in 1946, is one of the 11 Agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
From a traditional custodial agency faced with challenges of overcrowded prisons and manpower shortage due to high staff turnover and poor public perception, SPS is now a leading correctional agency with a stellar safety and security track record, characterised by effective inmate management and sustained low recidivism rates.
SPS's tagline: 'Rehab, Renew, Restart' emphasises our commitment to rehabilitate inmates who desire to change, renew and restart their lives for the better, and garner the support of the community.
Campaign content:
As the first collaboration with Lions Befrienders, Singapore Prison Service aims to contribute back to seniors by gifting care packs to seniors.
With your contributions, Singapore Prison Services will be able to purchase healthy food, beverages and medical items for our ah gong and ah ma's care pack. From 1st July 2022 to 31 Aug 2022, we hope to raise at least $14,000 dollars, benefitting 350 seniors from Lions Befrienders. No amount of donation is little, every cent counts.

About the Charity
Established in 1995, LB has more than 25 years of experience in befriending and caring for seniors in order for them to age in place in the community. Over the years, LB strives to address the varied needs of more than 86,000 seniors by adopting a senior-centric approach in its eldercare services. Leveraging on the support of some 1,000 regular volunteers, we actively engage more than 6,000 at-risk seniors via a spectrum of integrated eldercare service from preventive to intervention through comprehensive programmes, including social, emotional, mental and physical, to improve their quality of life.
Amid the challenges in the eldercare landscape, LB undertakes constant review and adjustment to its programmes and services. Under our Community Outreach arm, we currently operate 10 Active Ageing Centres, 3 Cluster Support, 2 Senior Group Homes and Home Personal Care services. Our Befriending arm extends island-wide befriending services to socially isolated seniors. For its exemplary disclosure and corporate governance practices, LB was conferred the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council in 2016 and 2017.
Lions Befrienders welcomes all donations. However, for administrative purposes, a minimum donation of $50 is eligible for tax deduction.
