About Us

Our journey began in 1996 when Dr Tan Kok Beng, our founder, felt the burden to help children from low-income and/or dysfunctional backgrounds. He had experienced a positive transformation of his own life, after his uncle stepped in and supported him through his growing years.

He recognised that the early period of a child's life will play an important role in his/her physical, cognitive and emotional development. When help is provided for these children, who have limited access to basic amenities and support, an increase in positive, stable lifelong outcomes and more opportunities will result.

With this vision in mind, Life Community Services Society was born.

Annually, Life Community serves over 1,000 children and families from low-income and/or dysfunctional backgrounds through four core programmes.

Our programmes focus on intervention work, including preventive, remedial and holistic development (character, moral values, social and emotional well-being) to reduce potential problems such as crime, drug abuse and poor academic, physical, social and mental health.

Our aim is for our beneficiaries to build strong foundations in their growing years and to reach their fullest potential, with resilience and purpose, later in life.

Our Programmes

Life Community has four core programmes, which has a focus on intervention work, care and mentoring.

3) EDUGROW FOR BRIGHTER TOMORROWS:
