One of the loveliest and most celebrated cultural festivals in Singapore, the Mid-Autumn Festival traditionally celebrated the end of the autumn harvest with gatherings and reunions. This annual celebration brings together families and friends under a joyous atmosphere filled with colourful lanterns, scrumptious traditional treats and the warmth of reunion. Every year on this special occasion, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital transforms our iconic pavilion garden and premises into a brightly-lit spectacle with beautiful and dazzling lantern displays to create an enchanting festive experience for our elderly.

You may play a part in this memorable event and warm hearts by making a donation! All donations are eligible for tax deduction of 2.5 times. Visit our website at www.kwsh.org.sg to find out more.

We thank you for your unwavering support in our mission of caring for the needy elderly and we wish you a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival in advance!

About the Charity

Established in 1910, KWSH is a charitable healthcare organisation and is registered as an Institution of a Public Character, committed to looking after the sick and needy. At present, KWSH operates a nursing home, a rehabilitation centre, a traditional Chinese medicine centre, four community care centres and offers home care services. It is now one of the most established providers in the ILTC (Intermediate and Long-Term Care) sector.
KWSH's fourth community care centre, KWS Care @ MacPherson, has started its operations in May 2021 to serve the community. Our new building - Block F is also expected to be ready in the 3rd Quarter of 2021. It will provide an additional 128 nursing home beds with capacity for chronic sick care, boosting our total capacity to 750 beds.

Moving forward, a second nursing home located at Potong Pasir is set to be ready in 2022 and the Hospital will eventually operate close to 1,200 nursing home beds in total, making us one of the largest nursing home operators in Singapore. The increase in number of residents and the expansion of our services mean that the Hospital's overall operating cost is expected to hit an estimated $60 million by 2022.

The majority of our beneficiaries are from lower-income families and their fees are heavily subsidised by KWSH. The generosity of the community has certainly aided us in sustaining the daily operations of the Hospital.
