About Us

Established in 1910, Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) is a charitable healthcare organisation and is registered as an Institution of a Public Character, committed to providing affordable and quality healthcare services to the sick and needy, regardless of race, language, or religion.

From a basic establishment offering inpatient services, and Chinese and Western medicine outpatient services, KWSH has since evolved into a modern healthcare institution operating a nursing home, a rehabilitation centre, a traditional Chinese medicine centre and 4 Community Care Centres, as well as offering home care services. It is now one of the most established providers in the ILTC (Intermediate and Long-Term Care) sector and also runs a community training institute catering to the training needs of its staff and the sector.

Moving forward, a second nursing home located at Potong Pasir is set to be ready in 2022. KWSH will eventually operate close to 1,200 nursing home beds in total, making us one of the largest nursing home operators in Singapore. The increase in number of residents and the expansion of our services mean that the Hospital's overall operating cost is expected to hit an estimated $68 million by 2022.

The majority of our beneficiaries are from lower-income families and their fees are heavily subsidised by KWSH. The generosity of the community has aided us in sustaining the daily operations of the Hospital.
