About Campaign

Can you imagine having your blood drawn into a machine to be cleaned three times a week for the rest of your life? This is what patients with end-stage kidney failure go through and yet, an unfortunate group of them struggle to pay for their treatments even though it has already been heavily subsidised by the Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF).

This unique group of patients from KDF require extra aid from society as they are mostly aged, unable to find work due to their age or medical condition or hold jobs with low wages.

The Adopt-A-Patient programme was set up to help this group of patients receive further financial support. This ensures that even the most destitute are able to receive life-sustaining dialysis treatments at KDF.

All donations to this movement page will go into supporting the Adopt-A-Patient programme, a second-tier funding which further subsidises the co-payment portion of selected patients' dialysis fees.

The programme has also been expanded in 2016 to provide transport subsidies to patients who are frail and have mobility issues, to ensure that they are able to commute safely between the dialysis centre and their homes.

About the Charity

The Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF) is an independent non-profit organisation which provides subsidised dialysis treatment to needy members of the community.

We support those whose income falls into the lowest 10% income bracket in Singapore, ensuring that this vulnerable group of patients will not be deprived of treatment as a result of their financial situation.

We currently run four haemodialysis centres at Admiralty Link, Bishan, Chinatown and Ghim Moh, serving about 340 patients annually. At least $4 million is needed yearly to continue KDF's life-saving mission.

All donations to KDF will be eligible for tax deduction as we are a IPC registered charity.

*Impact statements listed above are for illustrative purposes only. All donations received through this page will be channelled into the KDF general fund, which covers patients' dialysis treatment, public education, research and other operating expenses.
