According to the 2019 report on 'HOMELESS IN SINGAPORE: RESULTS FROM A NATIONWIDE STREET COUNT' by A/Prof Ng Kok Hoe of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, there are over 1,000 homeless / rough sleepers in Singapore. Due to the COVID-19 situation, rough sleepers are struggling and are highly susceptible to contracting the virus. Three years ago, there were no temporary shelters for the homeless / rough sleepers. As such, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) initiated the setting up of temporal Safe Sound Sleeping Places (S3P) in various locations to address this group's needs.

To support this initiative, Hope Initiative Alliance (HIA) proactively participated in the S3Ps programme to provide love and care for 10 homeless individuals who are temporarily housed in the S3P shelter at the Bible House.

We are raising fund to support the homeless and rough sleepers with basic necessities such as food, pillows, blankets, towels, hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc) to sustain their needs.

Let us rally together to love and care for these often-neglected individuals to intangibly feel that they do matter and are cared for. Your generous giving will provide them with a temporary home, basic necessities and bring a smile to the homeless / rough sleepers in our midst.

About the Charity

Hope Initiative Alliance is an award-winning, inter-racial, interreligious, and intercultural charity organisation that aims to provide holistic care for vulnerable and marginalised communities.

As an aggregator of support and services amongst our network of hundreds of partners and associates, HIA partners with over 100 social service organisations, civil society organisations, corporations and government agencies to mobilise resources in a sustainable manner, with the aim to eradicate social inequalities across various facets of society.

Currently, HIA has formed various movements that reach out to the migrant workers, migrant domestic workers, homeless individuals and rough sleepers, the vulnerable in the community (such as the elderly), young children, and interfaith youths.

In 2020, for our contributions to society amidst the Covid-19 Pandemic, HIA received the President's Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award (PVPA) from Madam President Halimah Yacob for the Organisation of Good category.
