It started with the idea of donating our christmas gift to our children to one of the homes on giving.sg .That was last Christmas. Instead of buying my child and friend's children christmas present for Christmas celebration, my family donated the amount for children's present $300 to one of the elderly home. It is a small idea that we want to inculcate our children to be sharing what they have and the act of kindness.
I don't know of any portal that aggregate all charity organization on one portal but this one is really good for donors to get information and support what they are passionate about. Before, whenever I can donate, I would chose any charity organization that comes to my mind, but now this is really comprehensive and convenient.
Our population is aging and everyday when you will see our elderly walking on the street. In my mind, I wish and bless them that they live a happy and healthy life. When we grow old, we want to live a happy and fulfiliing life too. So, share what we can to make their lives happier.
Happier Elderly !
About The Charity
O'Joy Care Services is a social service organisation dedicated to promoting the psycho-emotional health of older persons, and empowering their families and caregivers to accomplish the same through a holistic perspective on wellness.
By 2030, an estimate of 1 in 4 persons will be aged 65. To help aged persons and their caregivers cope with the many challenges they will face, we provide counselling services to alleviate emotional distress.
Complementing such services is a Ministry of Health (MOH) funded programme, COMIT, which provides all-rounded care. Details are in the section below. A preventive-care programme which offers daily arts activities and exercies, Health Oriented Ageing, has also been set up to target those aged 60 and above living in the Upper Boon Keng area.
