About Campaign

Our Dear Donor,
Let me introduce you to my family.
I am Lee Pei Ling, my husband George Ng and the joy of our life, 7 years old son, Matthew. Both myself and my husband are HWA's beneficiaries.
Due to a virus attack when I was 13 months old, I suffered from weakness in both my hands and legs, thus I was wheelchair bound. Due to a stroke at age 17, George suffered from paralysis on the right side of his body.
Our son, Matthew was born in 2014. When the nurse first placed baby Matthew near me, just after his birth, tears of joy just swelled in my eyes. I could not stop crying. To me, it was a miracle as I never dream that I would ever be a mother with my disabilities. Even now I feel deeply emotional whenever I hold my son. He is in Primary 1 this year.
Despite of our disabilities, we are gainfully employed as administrative assistant and graphic designer respectively. We have many people to thank for in our journey. My supportive family and HWA for providing us with subsidised transport and rehabilitation services as well as social and recreational activities.
We are grateful most pertinently to "YOU", our dear donor. On behalf of all HWA beneficiaries, including Thimajit Singh, Juraimi and Siew Han, "Seasons Greetings" to you and your loved ones. We wish you the best for the new year and hope it brings you Good Health and Happiness, which you truly deserve.

Warmly yours,

Pei Ling, George, Matthew

About the Charity

For the past 50 years, HWA (formerly known as Handicaps Welfare Association) has been providing needed services to people with physical disabilities. To fund its services to the needy beneficiaries, HWA has to rely on the generosity of the public and organisations for financial support.

In recent years, HWA has expanded its services to meet the increasing and changing needs of people with disabilities and the rapidly aging population. The number of beneficiaries that HWA served is also growing and this means HWA has to increase its staff strength to meet the needs of the beneficiaries.

With the continuing community support, HWA will be empowered to continue its mission in serving people with disabilities and the elderly.

On behalf of our beneficiaries, thank you so much for your support!
