Give A Gift of Love This Christmas #GivingWeekSG
by Presbyterian Community Services
2020 has been a different year for most of us, and a challenging one for many, especially for the clients we serve. Despite this, our centres continue to serve our elderly clients and help them to overcome difficulties faced that was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's one testimony from Mr Ng, one of our elderly clients from Martha Seniors Activity Centre: "The staff there are very friendly. They would help me whenever I have problems with my handphone or other issues. During the COVID-19 Circuit Breaker period, it was difficult to go out to get my meals, so they helped me in applying for meal delivery services."
Make a difference in the healing journey of patients in need #SGUnited #GivingWeekSG
by SGH Health Development Fund
Established in 1821, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) is Singapore's largest acute tertiary hospital with 1,700 beds. Every year, about 1 million Singaporeans benefit from medical care delivered by its 800 specialists. The SGH Needy Patients Fund helps patients who need financial assistance by providing support for basic and critical care requirements such as interim financial help for dialysis, equipment, consumables and treatments that are not covered under MediFund. The fund tides our patients over difficult times so that they can focus on recovery until alternate funding sources from the community or charities are available on a long-term basis.
Uncle Ang's Wish #GivingWeekSG
by HCA Hospice Care
Uncle Ang*, our HCA Day Hospice patient, spends his day participating in activities with other elderly patients, who like him, are suffering from cancer or some form of life-limiting illness. While he likes it there, there are some days where he'll just sit moodily in a corner. "It would be nicer, if they could let me choose what activity I want to do, or let me bring my grandchildren to accompany me," he says.

For many low-income families, Christmas may not be a merry time of the year for them . School going children from low-income families envy their peers who have the chance to celebrate the festive season over a good meal and receiving gifts. But for the less endowed families, making ends meets are their sole concern before they could even consider a celebration.
