About Campaign

ends 31 May 2022, 11:59 PM
In conjunction with International Guide Dog Day, Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd (GDS) is organising a Virtual Flag Day from 23 April to 31 May 2022! As we are unable to host a physical Flag Day due to Safe Management Measures, we are transitioning to a Virtual Flag Day.

This Flag Day, join us in pledging your support for our guide dog heroes and the team of talented professionals who breed and train these dogs.

We invite you to join us on the journey of raising funds to continue to provide lifelong, sustainable support to the visually impaired community.

Here's how you can support:

- Consign a donation box by adopting our cute guide dog donation box and place them in high-traffic areas to encourage donations.

- Create an Online Fundraising Page with a Goal and share your reasons why you want to support guide dogs. Compelling stories encourage your friends/family/employees to attain the fundraising goal together.

- Direct Your Passion/Talent to an Event: If you love cooking, consider organising a feast for families and friends and encourage them to donate-to-eat for your effort. If you love the outdoors, maybe organise a donate-to-participate guided tour

- Contact us if you would like to find out more about guide dogs and the visually impaired community,

If you would like to do your part and support, contact us at [email protected]

Your donation will be matched by Tote Board $1 for $1, meaning when you donate $100, we will receive $200!

Thank you for supporting GDS!

About the Charity

Based on 2015 Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) findings, there are more than 300,000 people with sensory (blind and deaf) and physical disabilities in Singapore. Out of this, it is estimated 50,000 residents are suffering from vision loss. But only 5% out of 300,000 are gainfully employed. In addition, with the prevalence of diabetes, myopia and aging population, there is an increasing number of people with vision loss who need our services.

At Guide Dogs Singapore Ltd (GDS), we believe that people with vision loss should not be limited by their disability. We aim to enhance the quality of life for people with vision loss through a range of rehabilitation programmes. Since our inception in 2006, our services have grown beyond providing guide dogs to include teaching people with vision loss the skills needed to live independently, and working with community stakeholders to build a supportive society for the visually impaired.

We operate with limited resources, and are grateful for your gifts. Please donate generously to enable us to continue our services and provide more guide dogs to people with vision loss. All direct donations of minimum S$20 are eligible for 250% tax exemption.

Auto-monthly donations are now available. If you are thinking of setting aside an amount for charitable causes in your Will, contact us for a chat.
