About Campaign

The school holiday is a time when children of all ages look forward to fun workshops outside the usual academics. Some families even have an overseas trip planned to take a mid-year break.

The low-income families, however, do not have this privilege. They struggle on a daily basis to make ends meet and do not have extra resources for their children apart from meeting their daily needs. Children in low-income families have no activities to engage them during the month-long school holidays as such workshops can be costly. Their living condition in rental flats or smaller-sized flats also tend to push the children out to seek activities on their own and this becomes a concern should they may fall into the wrong company and go astray.

Helmed by Fei Yue Family Service Centre and SG Cares Volunteer Centres operated by Fei Yue, the Learn & Play workshop aims to provide a platform for the children in the low-income families to have a chance to participate in a variety of workshops to broaden their knowledge and perspective beyond books.

With the Learn & Play workshop in mind, we aim to raise funds to cover workshop fees, workshop materials, trainers' fees, etc., to sponsor 1,000 children between the aged of 5 and 12 from the low-income families to allow them to be enrolled in the workshops that they are interested in without having to worry about the workshop fees.
