Do you want to make a real difference to children from disadvantaged backgrounds but don't know where to begin?

There are many children who do not have access to basic learning opportunities. They have never read a book; or been exposed to the classic stories many of us are familiar with.

So we started Joyful Learning, a weekly programme for vulnerable children.

Each week, our volunteers will introduce a story to children and conduct fun-filled activities related to the story. Children are gifted a storybook each week to start building their home-libraries.

Your minimum donation of S$20 would help us gift a book and learning kit to a child.

Joyful Learning:

- For children 3-6 years old
- Once a week / 1.5 hours each session
- Based on 40 classic storybooks
- Imparting Literacy, Numeracy, Creative Expression and Fine Motor Skills
- Delivered by volunteers trained and mentored by experienced educators from EtonHouse Group

Each session consists of:

- Circle time where children are invited to gather around to sing and recite rhymes together.
- Storytelling where children will develop listening skills and be encouraged to think about familiar episodes in the stories so as to make connections to the real world.
- Art and Craft to encourage children to express their creativity and imagination.
- Children will be gifted a storybook each week, while parents or caregivers will be given tips to extend their children's learning and
to bond with them meaningfully at home.

About the Charity

The EtonHouse Community Fund (ECF) was founded on the EtonHouse Group's strong belief in the importance of education and the spirit of giving back to society. Every child regardless of his or her background should have access to good quality education.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
