You can help to build a sustainable future for hundreds of children in need, giving them a caring home and access to quality education.
What & Where?
On 15 October 2013, the island of Bohol in Philippines, was devastated by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake whose epicentre was 6 km (3.7 miles) south of Sagbayan town. The Ancillae Christi School, main beneficiary organisation of this project, was badly affected by the devastations and could not be used anymore. With the help of Children's Hour, they have managed to build two classrooms. However, the site is susceptible to future earthquakes & flooding so it is our dream to rebuild a new school at a new site that is safe from future natural disasters.
The plan is to establish a new children's home for up to 50 children in need, and a portfolio of commercial establishments including a private school and tourist establishments (restaurant, eco-hotel, etc.). The profits generated by the commercial establishments will fund the children's home and will make it a sustainable project.
About the Charity
We empower disadvantaged communities by improving their quality of life through sustainable engineering solutions. Working in partnership with community-based organisations locally and in the region, we provide opportunities for engineers to contribute their expertise to address community needs through skilled volunteerism. Technology is a great enabler, even more so for individuals and communities that are disadvantaged. Help support our work by donating to us - your donations will give us the support we need to continue our work in Singapore and the region.
