About Campaign

Natural climate solutions (NCS) are at the heart of Conservation International's (CI) work globally. NCS refers to the actions that conserve, restore or improve the use or management of ecosystems while maintaining their capacity to absorb and store carbon from the atmosphere. Scientists, including those from CI, have established that nature provides more than 30% of the solution needed to combat the climate crisis while also providing many important ecosystem benefits such as regulating freshwater systems and providing clean air.

This campaign will raise funds to support our work to develop Singapore's capacity for global leadership in natural climate solutions.

Singapore's Minister for Finance, Mr. Lawrence Wong, announced in Budget 2022 that Singapore would raise our climate ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by or around mid-century. Our work supports the Government's plan, and our team is exploring the potential for high-quality NCS projects within the region.

This campaign will enable us to provide opportunity, guidance, financial solutions, and partnerships with local government and businesses while supporting education, capacity building, and job creation for technical specialists that can drive the growth this sector needs to scale in the next decade. In addition, our expertise in NCS can help Singapore achieve its ambitious climate goals and standards to be a global leader in this area.

About the Charity

Every breath we take, every bite we eat, it all starts with nature.

Everything that makes our lives and livelihoods possible has its origins in the natural world. Unfortunately, we are pushing nature beyond its limits. Our growing global population's demand for resources is depleting forests and oceans faster than they can recover. Nature has time to evolve, as it always has. Humans don't.

For more than 30 years, Conservation International has worked across the Asia-Pacific region to protect the nature that humanity depends upon. We work from the individual and community levels. We build partnerships and collaborate with NGOs, corporate partners, and government, to conserve the region's most vital remaining natural areas for the benefit of humanity.
